I would like to provide my support for this submission. Our area would benefit greatly from a family friendly dining spot that opens in the early evenings, so families, friends or neighbours can walk locally for a simple quiet meal and drink. Similar to the cafe at Dolls Point shops. This would integrate with the local area and also be wonderful for beach visitors. There are no dining options locally after 2pm, so residents are forced to drive for any entertainment or shopping needs. The convenience store currently at 24 Napoleon does not provide broadly for the community (although a modern convenience store with fresh stock on this corner would also be useful) and this space can be better utilised. I believe the area is likely to attract local residents, not “hoons” looking for excitement. Napoleon Street appears to me to have plenty of parking within the general vicinity of the corner and residents nearby do appear to have garages and/or car parking spaces on their properties. The street parking is open to all, and personally, I’ve never seen the street so full of cars that there is nowhere left to park. I hope this new cafe project is allowed to go ahead to bring some more sedate life to the area.
