Hi
There should be no tree removal DA accepted without a very good reason included in the application. What is the reason for this tree removal?
I believe the council should tighten its processes.

Unless there is a safety reason - I can see no valid basis for reducing the already thin native tree cover in Bondi. Our native birds need these trees and they reduce the heat island effect as well as absorbing CO2.

I live around the corner from this property and enquired to Waverley Council as to why the tree had been approved for removal. I received the following response (paraphrased): "Administration Officer generated the approval notice based on the TPO assessment notes which read ‘Remove and replace with one (1) native tree within one (1) month of removal. This tree has succumbed to poor health due to natural causes. Its physical condition will not recover’." I also inspected the tree and agree with the officer comment.
