18 Callanish was rebuilt in what is now an outdated design and occupies a position across the entire width of the block. By keeping the existing house, the only option for this proposed new dwelling is to position it in the backyard where established gardens would be removed, and overlooking into the backyards of nos. 16 and 20 would be unavoidable.
Access to the new dwelling would be via the side driveway, removing the parking spaces that exist for the soon to be front house - hence pushing 2 cars onto the street for parking which is not ideal on a tight street with multiple blocks of units. I would suggest council consider this - what are they doing with the existing buildings and space to accommodate an additional dwelling. I would request those considerations are requested as part of approval of this additional dwelling.
