Dear Sir/Madam,
While we don't wholly object to the knockdown/rebuild of 41 Harris Street, we are nevertheless extremely concerned about the inevitable noise and disruption to our peaceful cul-de-sac.
Both my wife and I have been working from home since the beginning of Covid, and the noise will make our work not only unbearable but in my case, as a voice recording artist, nigh on impossible.
To this end, we politely ask council to consider putting limits on the hours of noise - say 3 hours a day maximum - and definitely prohibit any works taking place on weekends.
Furthermore, parking in our street is pretty bad at the best of times, so we would also ask council to ensure that any works vehicles for 41 Harris Street, use the utmost courtesy and common sense when parking, and that includes asking works vehicles to ensure their engines are turned off when not in use.
We understand there will be disruption (that is the nature of the beast), but if we can all work together to make sure the works are as quiet and unobtrusive as possible, then that would go some way to alleviating the turmoil, and allow residents to enjoy partial quiet enjoyment of their homes.
Kind regards
Rupert Degas & Megan Tait
