The developer is proposing to demolish a heritage building for no good reason. The new building is ugly. Why cant they just build on-top of it? Please don't let the developers destroy this City's character

I object to this submission given the heritage building won’t be retained. The proposed new building also does not fit into the surrounding fabric of the city and looks to be poorly designed.

I heartily agree with the other comments about demolishing the heritage building at 636-638 George. Number 630 George St is a bland facade and offers no architectural or design merit (just like the proposed new building) but 636-638 has beautiful echoes of Sydney's past and must be remained. Why are we still not learning from the lessons of the Rocks and QVB after so many years? All heritage buildings must be retained to preserve the history and charm of our city. The proposed new building is ugly and contributes nothing to the streetscape.
