Flockhart street and Grosvenor street do not have the capacity to accomodate more cars passing through specially during peak hours. Even now during covid times the entrance to Shamrock street is sometimes blocked because cars trying to get in and out of the complexes (more so after Park house was opened)
This building with the proposed height will also block the only view that any of the high density buildings in this area have to a patch of green.
Also considering the pandemic the planning for this area in general need to be revised. There is not any clearing between any of the high density buildings in this area and now we all know that this can quickly turn into a disaster of public health. High density buildings (if allowed at all) need to be distanced more from each other and have more public green areas in the middle and there also needs to be more entrances and separation of facilities planned.
The planning regulations need to be quickly updated in response to this public health pandemic. There was no reason for a change last year but now that we have the data if we do not change the regulations accordingly there will be no excuse.
