Ideally, this property should have been purchased by the council to protect the local nature reserve. This particular property is right in the middle of the beautiful forest where the pedestrian bridge crosses Mullum Mullum Creek. This forest is one of the most beautiful forests in the greater Melbourne region. All efforts should’ve been made by the government to prevent further suburban development encroaching upon the forest and further destroying it. I just hope that the developers of this property are going for a small wooden house that will be within keeping of the local area. Some of the homes in the local region are concrete monstrosities. At the moment the suburban development is not that noticeable in the forest. However, once this property is developed, the forest will have a house right in the middle of it standing out like a sore thumb. I cannot understand how such things can be approved. Realistically, this forest should have been a national park decades ago because of its extreme natural beauty and its long association with the local indigenous people around Mullum Mullum Creek. Because development seems inevitable, the council should force the developers of this home to plant a row of trees in the backyard of the property to prevent the house from being seen within the forest.

Agreement with the above comment of Chris Ludlow. We are losing too many trees and two storey impact greater on the privacy of neighbours and on the streetscape. Trees are able to provide some screening and reduce the impact.
