Please don’t allow these apartments to be built. They are out of character for our wonderful community and Dunheved Rd can not cope with the traffic now let alone all the traffic these apartments and businesses will add to the road.

I would like to submit my objection to DA16/1310

I believe this development is not in line with the core wants or values of this community at all.
This is a development that has the ability to redefine the entire suburb by setting a precedent for this kind of high rise construction in the area, yet for this development application has only been given to residents within about 400 metres of the development.
Other residents in the suburb have not been notified or consulted at all regarding this development, but it’s approval has far wider reaching ramifications for all residents of this community, not just those within a 400 metre radius.
This will forever affect the community as a whole, not just those that live close by.
The lack of consultation with the community as a whole for this development was never given.
Other suburbs where this kind of development has been allowed have subsequently been swallowed up by developers buying up home lots and building similar blocks of units, forever changing the landscape and core of the community.
This Development will be the catalyst for opening the door for similar high rise developments in the area by developers.
This will continue to over stress an already overstressed infrastructure, and overcrowd the area.
It will adversely affect existing community businesses in Werrington County Shops on Dunheved Rd.
It will add traffic to an already over stressed local road network.
Dunheved Road does not cope well with existing traffic. There are already queues that block the intersection of Henry Lawson Drive and Dunheved Rd on a daily basis during peak times from 2pm to 6.30pm

I do not feel that this kind of high rise development fits within our community & I would like the Councillors voted by us the Community to uphold the core wants of the Community and help the community put a stop to this DA

    Kind Regards, Jason Quinton

    Dear Sir/Madam/Committee,
Regarding DA16/1310, we would like to strongly object to this development for the following reasons.
1- Unless there is substantial development of Dunheved Rd/Werrington Rd/Gt Western Hwy/Gipps Rd this development and others like it will have a substantial affect on local traffic on already congested roads. We understand that traffic monitoring equipment has been previously installed but the results they produced will be insignificant if this development and others destined for Victoria St go ahead.
2 - We are long term residents of the Werrington Downs/Werrington County neighbourhood like many others. We were in the line up to buy our block way back in 1980 from Landcom. At no stage was there any mention of high rise buildings or plans for them. It was presented as family friendly for first home buyers.
3 - We are extremely disappointed that this development has gone so far through the application process without notifying people in the areas of Werrington Downs/Werrington County as this development has a major impact on our lives, property sales and potentially will open the door for other similar projects. We have already protested successfully against a Boarding House proposal at 54 Grazier Crescent for the very same reasons, it doesn’t fit the ascetics of the area which is principally single story residential.
Even now that is under threat with approvals for Granny Flats, Duplexes and Town Houses which further add to the traffic congestion.
4 - There are apparently shops within this development. There are already shops at Werrington County that struggling and some have been vacant for long periods of time.
5 - As mentioned previously, the lack of notification was appalling. Given the potential of this development to change the ascetics of the area many more residents should have been consulted. This proposal was sneakily put through which is disappointing.
6 - This development is just another multi story development to go with those already at St Marys, Kingswood, Werrington, Penrith, Jordan Springs. They are an eyesore and add to the over population and overcrowding of a council area that once had open spaces, smooth traffic flows and family recreation areas.
Please put an end to this proposal.

I think this is a fantastic idea.
The area is worn and ageing and needs an injection of modern buildings and architecture.

  5. Jeff Brown commented

    I agree with the above.
People of Werrington need this. The locals complain about anything to do with progress. If upgrades and changes are not made the suburb will spiral into an ugly ghetto that no one wants to live in. The council have done the right thing by developing Jordan Springs and Ropes Crossing and adding shops, parks and sporting facilities.
Unfortunately there is always a minority that will oppose everything that doesn't suit their personal situation.

I strongly object to this development. The cars for 49 units will need 98 parking spots where will they park their cars? On the street which one? Dunheved road is congested now. The area has a family vibe single or double storey buildings blend in with the environment. High rise is developers greed. We have paid rates for 40 years to Penrirh Ciry Council and havent moved on as we love the area ,the peace, wildlife in the trees and the kangaroos and emus that appear. Please put the environment first.

These builders application applied for 49 units on designs there are 85 units in 3 buildings. They applied for 71 residential carapaces on design there are 85 carapaces. I have not seen an application with anything else then the 49 units. Originally there was to be 1 basement carpark on new designs there are 2 basement carparks. There is only 1 way in and out of the complex. The land is so small they are putting in a turntable so the garbage truck can get in and out because there is not enough room to make a turn. The over flow from the Henry Lawson club goes into that vacant block at the moment but where are the cars going to go with cars from the units, retailers included in a small suburban road. For the people who want this to go through, please would you have a 2-5 level buildings living behind where you get no sunlight onto my property, 2 roof tops outside bbq 4 levels above your fence which stays open till 10pm. 3 levels of 2 buildings with 12 balconies not just windows looking into your backyard. The builders have applied false information ,the council and others should recognise this and not agree to it on that fact alone.
