Dissapointing to see the tree of over 100 years old not protected by local council, along with a building circa 1901 not heritage listed. Often referred to as the 'crown of Thames ' this was a home to families who fought in WW1 & WW2 to defend Australia, participated in local community, including that of the first people's, helping thousands of people in the Box Hill, Mont Albert, Surry Hills and Blackburn area over a century. This home, being destroyed without any of it being preserved, and turned into high density boxes is outright disrespectful to all peoples, especially those who lived there given they contributed so much to Box Hill. There is a physical danger, more cars and traffic on that hill will lead to accidents. Whitehorse City Council please re-consider the application.
