I live in an apartment block directly across the road from this development and have no problem with the development Per Se, however there is an urgent need to restrict the amount of street parking from rail commuters as on weekdays and Blackwood Street market days University Rd becomes ONE LANE with cars having to back up to allow others to use the road. This dangerous situation will only get considerably worse when construction starts with contractors vehicles, trucks and alike.
It seems that residents in this my block have to take their live in their hands just to exit our carpark with cars speeding along this narrow Rd. My suggestion is that while the approvals are being considered for all the units being built on University Rd, the road should be WIDENED as Sussex Street has been widened not that long ago. A further suggestion is to restrict the speed limit to 40 kph.
