I don't understand why it is necessary to demolish this house. It is well built and appears structurally sound. The house to replace it does not seem to me to be an improvement In fact if it is to be replaced with something similar to the current new builds in our area, the quality will be inferior to the existing dwelling. I have heard the owner doesn't like all the stairs. Simple solution is to put in a lift or two. This will be much cheaper than a demolition and new build. Also what happens with the demolished house (bricks, windows, roof tiles, etc). Does it go to landfill? If so, how can this be justified? I would like to see this application rejected.
