I have been made aware that there is a proposed development at 235 Warners Bay Road for 25 new dwellings to be built.

These properties would be accessed via the same access road that I currently use and I have concerns about the large increase in traffic on this single lane, one way road (potentially 25-50 more cars using this road!).

This road is already reasonably busy at various times of the day but would become even more so.

There is no footpath access and it is a very narrow road which increases my safety concerns regarding the huge traffic increases that would occur if this application is approved.

I am a resident that has lived in this area for 4 years. Since that time I have watched further unit development be built. I moved back to Lake Macquarie from inner Newcastle because I got sick and tired of smelling fuel, hearing cars all day long, smelling rubbish and seeing the environment deteriorate from poor attitudes of its community.
Since living back here I can hear trees in the wind, birds in the day, see wildlife day and night - please consider the wildlife, our community and our environment when looking at this application for more housing. The Lake Macquarie City Council has 2 community values that I feel are being threatened by further development in this location. Value 1 'our unique landscape' and Value 2 'lifestyle and wellbeing'- there will be no landscape with more housing built. It will require destruction of natural environment that is currently there, over populated with people, which is not healthy for social and environmental wellbeing. If we keep destroying natural environment, we will loose species from our area of flora and fauna. People within my area already feel this is becoming over populated, people living in small spaces and it is affecting wellbeing with noise and creates an increase of the use of one narrow access road. A further 25 units being created would increase the traffic load on an already busy one way access road.
Since completion of the other complex units, the birds have slowly returned back to the area, rainbow lorikeets, rosellas, possums are in the area, which have not been any issue. During building the dust, the smell and noise of disturbance it created was very unliveable - being a shift worker this is important.
I believe strongly in environmental sustainability and protection of natural living. I speak for my partner and of myself of this address when submitting this statement, and support our neighbours and for the council to consider our thoughts before approving this development.

It seems Newcastle and Lake Macquarie councils are giving in to the developers of multi unit and multi storey projects, these are not necessary in established suburbs as it promotes overcrowding ,lack of parking and overshadowing of existing dwellings . there is plenty of undeveloped land around the lake area, so please give these type of constructions a miss and let us enjoy the properties we purchased ,this is not Sydney thank you
