I live in Excelsior area and was of the belief the land could only be subdivided into no less than 3000sqm lots. Mcloughlin road runs onto a conservation area at Sheepstation. I think the increase from 3 to 17 lots is going to have a significant impact on the wildlife in this area. The wildlife already have no where to go. We are in a buffer zone due to this conservation park so Mcloughlin road should also be a buffer zone due to the distance to the conservation park.

We live in the area near this development. We have a number of concerns about this.

1. Much of the vegetation, trees etc has already been cleared from these blocks. This shows a complete disregard for the local community and environment and highlights what a joke the so called community ‘consultation process’ is.

2. Having the land cleared prior to approval removes any opportunity to truly determine environmental impact and the presence of native animals and significant trees. It has already been cleared - prior to council approval of the project. Disgusting disregard for the local area.

3. We regularly have native wildlife - Kangaroos, birds, possums and most significantly, Koalas in our yard and the yards surrounding us. Further clearance of land and increased habitation by humans will have a dramatic impact on where these animals are able to live and breed.

4. There are a number of areas of environmental significance in this neighbourhood and around the Sheep Station Creek Environmental reserve. A development of this size will have significant impact on the wildlife, trees and creek.

5. These blocks are on the small side of allowable limits for Rural Residential areas. One would question if they are actually breaching the required size.

6. Once again, our short sighted Moreton Bay Council are prioritising greedy developers (who in this case is a real estate agent, clearly taking advantage of inside knowledge) over quality developments and ensuring our communities areas of environmental significance - animal habitats etc are protected. Money over people and community. DISGUSTING.
