It's great to have the hotel but no I do not want to see an increase in concerts or functions. To much noise and traffic. We already have venues in Brisbane and Woodford. This is mainly a retirement area with an increase in working families. The hotel has created more traffic than anticipated. I say no to more noise and traffic. Any more we will see an increase in crime and traffic accidents and drugs.

The Hotel is great for visitors & employees but, until Bribie island rd is upgraded to Double Lines & a second bridge built, I don't think allowing extra events is a good idea, the traffic is horrible through Ningi most days, Double Lines will ease congestion of traffic, fix that problem first, the area has grown too much but nothing has been done to improve the road...

Bribie Island road cannot cope with the extra traffic these events cause
It has backed up to Caboolture many times making the return trip to Bribie a 2 hour nightmare
Increasing the number of events will no doubt clash with other events like the abbey mediaeval festival and emergency services expo causing traffic chaos
The road cannot even cope with summer holiday daytrippers
Commuting to and from the island is already a nightmare without more events

SPH is headed to ending up like Dreamworld, Movieworld etc. There is continual events on weekends & still they are planning more. When will enough be enough ? Great that it brings employment, however it's the locals who suffer the multitudes every weekend. During the week we have normality, but on the weekend we dare not go out. I agree with the sentiments of another local who has voiced her opinion..... I resent being held to ransom by the pub as to my activities in any one weekend or visitors I can have over, all pending on whats on at the hotel and whether we can get home in a timely manner. NO NO NO NO NO

I am a resident at Silvershores Caravan Park. Getting out & in the park at any given time is hard. When events are held at the Sandstone Point Hotel we are prisoners. Please do not allow an increase in events

yes the road probably needs to be widened as for the quality of it it is well kept no humungous pot holesetc and i think that until a decision is made to upgrade Bibie Island Road to cater for the heavier traffic load wether it be extra concerts at Sandstone Point Hotel or the fact that Bribie Island has become quite popular with tourists and holiday makers that we probably would be able to support all this if wwe could have more Police at certain Points along Bribie Island Road directing traffic at busy times therefore giving traffic a smoother run through i think its unfair to cut the concerts back as they are entertainment for a wide range of ages they finish early so as not to disturb too many people i find a lot of objections to be over the top as so many jobs have been generated and this will not be a long term prublem

Dear Sir/Madam, regarding the proposed application please accept this email as a formal objection. As a resident of Bribie Island the increased pressure on infrastructure we already absorb due to events is, in my opinion, untenable. Having to plan around significantly increased travel time & traffic congestion regularly is unfair & shows disregard for the rate payers ability to enjoy what we pay for.
    Kind regards,
    Catherine Brice

    Dear Sir/Madam

We object to the proposed application by Sandstone Point Hotel which would allow for potentially up to 24 concert days per calendar year (12 events, each of a maximum of two days).

Living in Sandstone Point, our main objections with the proposal are as follows:-
    (i) that the increased number of event days per calendar year will adversely impact on local residents, ourselves included, due to more frequent traffic congestion on Bribie Island Road and East Bestmann Road, and
(ii) that local residents will experience more frequent noise pollution from the increased number of events.

The existing number of concert days per year already impacts negatively in the ways described above and we certainly would not want to see that exacerbated.

    Kind Regards

    B&S Walsh

    Hi everyone,

Today is your last day to submit an objection to the local council to this Change of use.

I have done so. This must not be approved until the roads are fixed and the noise levels are adhered to.

Let's stand up and be heard.
