Please let me know what type of business will be in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Given this location is a residential area and is approximately 100 metres from North Sydney Girls High School, approximately 120 metres from Cammeraygal High School and approximately a couple of hundred metres from North Sydney Boys High and Marist College?

Being in or adjacent to residential housing in Eden , Myrtle and West Streets a 24 hour operation is NOT suitable.

Is council accepting this unnamed activity in close proximity to schools and residents? Are the relevant ward councillors supporting this application?

The proposed hours are too long. What sort of business requires to be operating 24/7 ?Presumably there will be staff coming and going at all hours and the Plan of Management of the Commercial Suites provides no guaranteed protection to adjoining neighbours. Once permission for these hours is approved it is almost impossible to rescind. There are over 75 new apartments within 50 metres of this location and these residents’ needs should be considered over and above those of the applicant. Mixed use buildings work when the ground floor business hours are within the usual times - to permit a 24 hours operation is asking for trouble.

I am VERY concerned as to the type of business that would need to operate 24/7 with access to 7 different suites within a tight residential community. I understand the documentation states the business activities as per the below - however should they undertake in any other business activities will this be immediately shut down? Also there’s NO additional security precautions mentioned within the surrounds.

The purpose of the extended operating hours is to facilitate the operational requirements of the existing tenants. ln that regard, the existing tenants are engaged in business activities within overseas markets, including the purchase and import of building and construction related materials and products, jewellery, art wor( wholesale machinery, irrigation equipment and agricultural commodities trading. ln the circumstances, the extended operating hours are intended to facilitate timely interaction with overseas suppliers and clients.

Once you open this up to 24/7 it opens up the whole area to this madness. You are setting the scene. It will become Crows Nest 2.0 sex worker central. No thanks. We only just got rid of the one around the corner. Even my children were asking why all the men were sneaking around the back of our building. Don't do it!!!!!!!!!

I am sure i posted a comment about this earlier, simple why won't Council list the Trading name of the business and what set up and structure the business will have. This Planning Post will not go away why is it taking so long.

What type of business is this ? Let the residents know ! There are too many of these so called 24/7 places in the adjoining area. Have some sense and regard for the residents , schools and other businesses in the area !

  7. Amanda Judd commented

In relation to requiring 24/7 access - in the current technology driven world surely they can access all of the required information remotely after 7pm AEDT.
As a resident of 13 Eden Street I will be directly affected by the entering and exiting of an already noisy courtyard. I can imagin what it will be like at 2:am. 10 x more noisy.

The silence from Council, the Mayor and in particular local ward councillors is "DEAFENING".

Maybe any, or all of them, might like to share their thoughts with worried and concerned residents and alleviate the overwhelming anxiety this inappropriate application has caused throughout this community.

    You remember "communities"?

That's what North Sydney WAS. Our community was more than just a group of people living in a particular area. We WERE a community of people we could lean on when times are tough; our friends, family, and neighbours who are there for us when we need love, support and encouragement.

A 24x7 business operation within our Eden, Myrtle and West Streets community CLEARLY would only detract, disrupt and damage what is left of our community.

I say NO to 24x7 business activity adjacent to this residential community. Nay, adjacent to ALL RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITIES IN NORTH SYDNEY.

What do you say Mayor and Councillors?

There is no need for a 24/7 business activity in this location.
The area is residential and it would be beneficial for all concerned to have this matter silenced as a matter of urgency.

Continuing to spend time and effort (needless to say money) on these matters is wasteful. We all have lives and livelihoods to get on with and would much prefer to spend time and effort on these (lives and livelihoods) than consistently warding off unnecessary applications such as the ones experienced over the last six months.

Could we please see some support here North Sydney Council?
Perhaps the level of proactivity that is given to parking fines.

    Thank you
