I have a number of concerns regarding this development. Firstly, this is a residential area and the size of this proposed centre seems excessive and out of place in this area. The proposed look of the building is very different to the homes on the street which is not in keeping with the current streetscape and therefore goes against the planning guidelines for developing a childcare centre. I am concerned that this would impact property values on our street as it is not a visually pleasing building. I also note that it is a requirement according to planning guidelines for 1 parking space per 4 children yet the plans show only 5 guest parking spaces? This leaves concern that cars will be parked on our street during child drop off/pick up times which would be disruptive to residents and could also make access in and out of residential driveways quite difficult as it can be hard to see past parked cars. This road is already quite busy and this development is likely to bring more unnecessary traffic to the road. I am concerned about safety as the nearest T intersections on Voltaire and Riley’s Rd do not have stop signs or giveaway signs which may be needed with an increase in traffic. Also there are no pedestrian crossings nearby which is also a concern. There is also a home day care on Voltaire with vacancies which would suggest the proposed size of this development is too large and unnecessary.

This development is out of character for the street. It is a residential street that is already busy with through traffic from other suburbs taking short cuts. The crossing at the crest of the street is already dangerous at school times. Allowing such a large centre and building to go ahead would only increase the traffic and parked cars in the street. There is no crossing in front of the proposed centre, parents, possibly with prams, are going to be crossing the road with small children at peak traffic times - an accident waiting to happen! The centre proposes only five visitor spaces for 85 children in an underground carpark with one small entry/exit point! Again an accident waiting to happen. What about the delivery trucks? Where do they pull up?
The centre is proposed to run all year, I really pity the direct neighbors who are already trying to sell up now! It has already affected the value of their homes. The noise of a large childcare and the extra traffic right next to your house every day, morning and evening? This building would be more suited (and needed) next to the Winston Hills Shops, or attached to one of the nearby schools. The scale and appearance of the building is not in line with the rest of the street or any of the streets surrounding. It is not fair to make people renovating their homes comply with council regulations regarding scale and appearance and then allow a huge square, three story childcare centre to go ahead.

I think many of us young families living in Winston Hills will be happy for this development to go ahead. There is definitely a supply need for another childcare centre in the area.

Winston hills is an area that is full of young families, I have 3 children and have always struggled to get quality childcare that can cater for 0-5yrs. Many of us local mums are desperate for this to be approved! The road is nice and wide and traffic flows allowing for cars to enter and exit safely. There are footpaths for locals to walk along safely. Parramatta council please see the importance of our community needing this as the demand is huge. More mums are working and need to have options for childcare.

Childcare Centre's are a necessity and these days, the council ensures that the parking and access is beyond what is needed therefore minimizing disturbance to the local neighbourhood, the Traffic and Acoustic reports make sure of this. children are not dropped off or picked up on the street and access to the centre's are always forward exit unlike most residential driveways. Most centre's are well presented architecturally and present a tidy well maintained asset to the locality. Childcare centre's are by far the best neighbours to have, they don't have loud parties on the weekend or at night generally most of the noises that come out of them during the day are happy noises.
