Unless compelling reason, I wish to challenge the need to completely remove the tree rather than prune it.

I have no vested interest in the removal of the tree/trees it should be evaluated on merit.
It seems to be that there is a certain person carte blanche objecting to tree removals. On planning alerts i had two pop up for Lane Cove North, several streets away from each other, with the same gentleman wanting to lodge objections to both.
Please don't evaluate these people's lodgements without qualifying what kind of impact these will have on the person complaining.
I would wager it be little to no impact.
If the removal stands on it's own merit then fair enough. If not, then i'm sure it will be rejected justly, not because of someone putting their nose where it doesn't belong.
