This is a residential area. The hotel proposed is next door to an apartment complex with open air facilities shared amongst residents. Rubbish and detritus from hotel guests will easily fall or be thrown onto these outdoor facilities endangering residents and damaging property, not to mention noise, and lack of privacy and security. The Royal Flagstaff apartment complex next door to the proposed development is becoming increasingly family oriented, as is the rest of West Melbourne. Short-stays are not appropriate in this area as guests are less accountable for their actions that affect the local community.
