These trees are critical at present as they form a screen behind 688-692 Pacific Highway.
There is a proposal to develop this land by the owner's Aqualand Developments and the green barrier provided by the trees is listed as a critical factor in the evaluation of the development proposals already submitted to Council.

This application, should it refer to the line of trees forming this shield behind 688-692 Pacific Hwy or along the edge of Kenneth Slessor Park should be rejected.

Some of these trees have been heavily pruned as it is.

This property adjoins 688-692 Pacific Highway which is currently the subject of DA 2017/300. I oppose the tree removal on the grounds that no evidence has been presented of the tree posing a hazard to life or property; trees offer a natural means of greenhouse gas emissions via photosynthesis which is especially important in this dense and congested urban environment.

Minor edit of earlier post.

I strongly oppose to this application, as there are no any grounds presented on the reasons for removal, i.e. safety or hazard to either people or nearby properties.

Moreover, knowing that over past 3 years Aqualand (the Builder) who purchased the lot at 688-692 Pacific Hwy, Chatswood (trees are just behind this lot) with latest application DA2017/300 for a high rise building next to Chatswood Public School (CPS), the removal of trees seemed to be 'convenient' approach towards the plan to have DA2017/300 approved, instead of having / keeping natural habitat for the sake of local community and children of CPS.
