84 - 90 Atchison Street, Crows Nest NSW 2065

Do the council and planners really think the area can support yet another development.
I have lived in Atchison Street for 15 years and its becoming unbearable with the noise, traffic and reduction of sunlight and ensuing wind tunnel in Albany Street and Forum areas. Currently there are at least 4 apartments being built around my apartment with already two under construction at the end of the street where this development is proposed. Does anyone really want to live like this unless you are from China or Hong Kong like the greedy developers who don't care about our quality of life just dollars!!

I do not mind development and increased density at all, provided that it is done well. 14m heights are fine. This can bring enough people into an area to support local businesses, and make public transport more reliable.
Two things:
-we need to encourage more walking, cycling and public transport. Currently the car is king and it can't continue with increased population.
-for this particular development, it would be a great benefit to retain the retail space under the building. I would love it, if we can offer to the developer to go one level higher, provided that they make the ground floor a retail area.
We do not have any fruit and veg shops in the area. Council must plan to protect fruit/veg supply for people's health. Having close local access to this will encourage walking.
