Are you serious. Not happy with pollution the environment with coal generated power to keep such lights on at night, but polluting the skies of North Sydney and beyond into the bargain. Not happy with 'gold plating' the electricity distribution network in NSW and charging householders and resident by massively increased power bills, but they want to increase that pollution with a bigger sign requiring more power to run it. The ACCC in its latest report on you have confirmed just what you are.

NO, NOT IN MY BACK YARD.

For years AGL's after hours operation of its building sign has cast a blue haze across the skies of North Sydney and its environs. Why would any councillor represents the residents of North Sydney ever entertain any application for this CONSTANT transgressor of building sign curfews?

Please publish the names of ANY and EVERY councillor who fails to reject this nonsense application from a serial pest like AGL so we can remember them when the next election comes around.

Residents have rights too

You jest? More light pollution in North Sydney. And from that great Australian Corporate Citizen ... AGL. It's not April fools day either. Ahh it's Friday the 13th. Of course, the dark spirits are out again.

Get back into your coffin AGL, out here in the real world you and your pollution are no longer required.

Rooftop signage should not be allowed unless there are cast iron guarantees about illumination hours permitted AND mechanisms in place to manage transgressions. Neither are in place at present. Council allowed (on the strength of a report to Council from a Council staffer) the illumination of the Meriton sign until 1 am. Unacceptable.
Any new sign should conform to the standard 11 pm curfew, should use solar power, should not cause light glare nuisance and there must be a way of rectifying transgressions of the curfew - not an unattended phone messagebank.

North Sydney Mayor and councillors,
Why did you accept a council officer's recommendation to illuminate a commercial building for 2 hours passed the standard curfew for such lighting in the municipality?

Council Manager,
Why did you permitted one of your staff to recommend special treatment for Meriton, WITHOUT prior consultation with impacted residents?
Did you or your council officer know the history of public safety and worker's health issues with this building? If not, WHY?
Why would you reward this company with such a concession without taking into account the history of the management of this building by this company?

Message to the North Sydney Council Manager: sanction the officer involved, who failed to inform residents of his recommendation to change the building sign illumination standards before putting it to a council meeting.

Message to the Mayor and councillors: ditto on a "sanction" by you of the Council Manager - a clear failure for our most senior council officer to ensure the interests of residents was given proper consideration, or even consideration at all.
THEN GO AND HANG YOU HEADS IN SHAME FOR ONCE AGAIN FAILING TO REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF THE RESIDENTS
WHO PAYS THE MAJORITY OF RATES IN THIS MUNICIPALITY? Represent them then.
