Another possible unit block in an already very congested narrow street. Council needs to consider parking when approving these development applications, car spaces need to be more than one per unit, all units need to have a minimum of 2 car spaces and an increased number of visitor car parks. Kings Beach is becoming overcrowded with units, maybe it’s time to consider more townhouse developments instead. The noise and disruption to residents needs to be considered Ocean Verge left Verney Street with noise and road closures for about 2 years.

Being a close neighbor we would like the development to select and maintain low-lying plants along boundaries and footpaths to preserve views. Select plants to minimise leaf litter falling on our driveway and blowing into our pool. Keep planting tidy for clear sightlines and a cleaner experience for all."

I support strongly the comment by Kim Mc about the provision of two car parking spaces per unit for new building approvals and the provision of adequate visitor parking space. Parking in Verny St is already crowded. Older existing buildings have only one space so the street is already crowded with cars. It is also a narrow street so that when there are cars parked on both sides, there is not sufficient room for two cars to pass. One car has to pull off the road into a driveway to let the other car pass. Perhaps consideration need be given to changing the street to one way as well.

This application appears to be in line with Council's expectations for code assessable development in this area, and in my opinion a very nice design which improves the aged streetscape of Verney Street.

Yes, it is a busy area as it is specifically zoned high density with high height limits. Townhouses are more suited to medium density zoned areas.
People need to understand there is a housing crisis and people need homes to live in, like it or not the Sunshine Coast has seen extraordinary migration over the last couple of years.

In regard to parking requirements, previous commenters should understand that Council DOES in fact require more than one parking space per unit (there is a multiplier depending on how many bedrooms each unit has) plus a further multiplier for off street visitor parking. And if they are really interested, they should review the application and see the number of parking spaces the development actually proposes to provide, instead of just complaining in generalities. Perhaps it is the older units which should be retroactively imposed to provide an appropriate number of car parks for their residents?
