My concern is safety problem it may cause. The size of the place of worship would attract large amount of people from outside of the suburbs as there is not many muslin people in local area. Students live in this area walk to the bus station along the King George Road and travel around. As a mother/auntie of two high school girls, I would not feel safe anymore to let them to walk around by themselves when there would be a big crowd of people come in and out of our suburb all day long, day and night.

I do not believe that the Imperial Hotel liquor licence should extend past midnight. Late night trading of the Imperial Hotel has demonstrated a record of poor venue management, noise and disruption in the nearby residential community that has had significant impact on resident's amenity. Noise, late night car movements and parking issues, refuse (including used drug paraphernalia) left behind by late night hotel patrons has been clearly associated with the Imperial Hotel being a late night venue.

Past compliance plans by the hotel managers not been effective nor followed.

I really don't think it's a good idea. Reasons are:
1: Traffic and car park will be a big problem.
2: I don't see the benefit to local residents.
3: Apart from that, the noise will be a disaster to the quite local community.

Please don't build this in my lovely home.

Building specialized religious place won't help local community. We don't need this kind of church or mosque any more. We need more parks for children to play, more schools for teens to learn. Please consider donate those money to poor people in need of shelter instead.

  7. In North Ryde NSW on “To rezone land at 366-372...” at 366-372 Lane Cove Road and 124A & 126 Epping Road and 1 Paul St, North Ryde:

    Rhonda Ware commented

I wish to object to the proposed rezoning of the land 366-372 Lane Cove Road, 124A and 126 Epping Road, and 1 Paul Street, North Ryde. The applicant has not presented a traffic study of the intersection of Lane Cove Road (LCR) and the Epping Road on and off ramps because it would not be favourable to their proposal. There is a 20 minute delay in traffic north bound on Lane Cove Road. Queuing extends from the intersection of Waterloo Road and Lane Cove Road back along Lane Cove Road to almost Cox's Road in the afternoon peak. The traffic lights can be green but traffic from the Epping Road off ramp has priority turning on to Lane Cove Road northbound thus does not allow traffic on LCR to progress. The solution would be a grade separated interchange at Waterloo Road /LCR and this was first proposed by the former RTA over 20 years ago but never built, and now there is a railway station underneath so there is no relief possible. The railway is going East/West in the opposite direction to the traffic on Lane Cove Road.
In the morning peak period there is a 20 minute delay for traffic southbound on LCR. The traffic backs up beyond the Yanko Road/Ryde Road/LCR intersection.
This proposal will severely impact residents seeking egress from Paul Street, North Ryde in the morning peak due to the number of residents in the high rise residential proposed. Vehicle queuing of 15 vehicles is proposed and unaccepable and would take up the whole street. The level of service in the morning and afternoon peak hours of key intersections is at F therefore no further congestion can be added and this proposal is a traffic generating development.
For the future amenity of the proposed high rise residents there is a problem with flooding.
The existing buildings on site do not have a problem with flooding but by building
underground car parks flooding will occur at least 1/100 years of 60% inundation which is
something that could be fixed by building car parking above ground and making
    the residential towers even higher.
This proposal gives no land for a future bike path/ wider footpath or land for an
additional lane on LCR for left hand turn only, or land to the Epping Road onramp which would allow traffic to bypass the slowing vehicles trying to enter and exit the site and adds to traffic congestion in Paul Street/LCR and in LCR and Epping Road off ramp as 80% of future residents would be returning in the afternoon peak.
This proposal has more than a minimal impact on traffic all around the site, will cause flooding of underground car parking and storage areas affecting residents vehicles and storage and affecting staff/doctors/patients to the medical centre. It will cause overshadowing of an intersection which is extremely congested where traffic cannot
proceed even on a green light in the afternoon peak northbound.
Therefore I object to the rezoning of this land to mixed use as proposed to allow high rise residential in addition to the existing medical centre/pharmacy.
    Regards,
    Rhonda Ware

This new development is absolutely not a favor of local community.

The traffic is bad enough, and please take a look at this 'Noise Assesment 150661-01L-DD Rev01 indicates that approximately 260 worshippers / students will be on site on Friday at 1pm.' It will affect the people nearby and of course, parking will be worse then.

Please do consider the local residents. We strongly against this project, and hope the government can reconsider this issue.

It is unnecessary to build such a mosque in South Hurst villa because it does not serve most of the local residents. On the contrary, it can cause a lot of trouble to the community. Firstly, traffic will be a big problem. The condition is already bad around the proposed site and it takes long time to get through the traffic light during peak hours. It can not be tolerated for more cars to come into the area and traffic congestion will be much worse if the mosque is built. Secondly, noise is another problem. Long hour sevice of the mosque may bring a large number of people in and out of the area, and you can imagine the noise will be very bad for the nearby residents. It will be very disturbing. Thirdly, safety can be an issue. Too many people come into the area, who can promise everyone behaves themselves? Thief, robbery even violence can become a daily worry for the local residents.
As the proposed mosque is not able to bring any benefit to majority of the community, why we need it? I do not I will agree with the proposal.

What justification does any individual/business have to have to erect advertising signage over the space of (79-61=18) 9 usual housing blocks ? Are there any advertising standards that apply in under Redlands City Council by-laws? One would assume that this would be a very large sign leading to more visual pollution in the Redlands.

There are two kindergarten schools and one Anglican church in the nearby street The Mall. There is also a retirement village. The parking in this area is already very tight. Having a worship in this address will make the traffic and parking even worse.

Due to the DA, the worship expects to open in 3:30 am during summer time. I believe that this will create unnecessary noise to the nearby residents.

The other thing I would like to make clear is that I have never received any notification of this development from council. I heard from this development through As a resident who lives in the nearby street and I believe this development will affect my life and I should be notified.

I object to this development and hope the council will consider my opinion.

I was shocked when I heard that council will consider the application of construction of worship in this quiet and peaceful residential area. This will extremely bring unexpected noise to the neighbors especially to the young children in the preschool and elders in the nursing home. The worst of the worst is to cause traffic problem in these busy streets around this location. I am worrying that this will also cause disturbance to the established multicultural society and may potentialise the conflict ion of local residents with strangers coming to the worship from other suburbs.
    I strongly object this application!

A construction of this type is highly inappropriate for this location, it being on the intersection of a major thoroughfare and a quiet residential street. In addition the loss of amenity it will cause for the occupiers of the townhouse development right next door will be great as activity will occur before first light through out the year (at times before 5am) and until well after dark. The distinct lack of parking in the area should exclude its use for this type of development.

Height to too tall given neighbouring properties, which are all 1-2 story houses on that side of the street. Close to opposite the site are a couple of commercial sites which would be the equivalent of 3 stories. A few years ago, that site was going to be developed with a 3 story height limit. This should be enforced so it doesn't tower over existing properties and change the street landscape.

Also this property is only accessible by Burnley St. The height / number of planned units would substantially increase the already high levels of traffic congestion

I opposed to the plan of building a mosque at King George Rd, south hurstville. Firstly it will increase traffic congestion at this already busy road, less parking space for local residents. The hours it operate will be a noise problem as well. I strongly do not believe building a mosque at this suburb will benefit the community at large and does not promote Kogarah council rezoning plan to accommodate increase population. majority in this suburb are non Muslims and don't need a mosque here, as there already so many near by.. penshurst, arncliffe, etc. It also may affect devaluation of the properties in this suburbs, which we save hard earn money to buy a property here because it peaceful, nice quite, less crime and safe. Kogarah council pls listen and consider the vast majority of the residents that they do not want a mosque. Thank you

    Absolutely, ST!
This is a nightmare. What's happening to our beloved city and suburbs? Do we have no right to say we live here cause we love it- as is?
Out of interest, do the developers and council/government decision makers live in any of these Urbanly Renewed streets?

As a resident living on the same street as the Golden Barley, I wholly support this proposal. Perhaps due to its long history and positive relationship with various communities in the area, this venue creates only minimal disturbance and is highly respectful of residents. At the same time, it is an essential part of the social and cultural fabric of the area. The Golden Barley is to be commended on its efforts to date and supported in this very reasonable application.

I am writing to express my objection against the above named development application:

    1. The traffic congestion is already very bad around the proposed site.
    2. Huge noise problem for Mosque especially 7 days a week.
    3. Don't use your belief to affect my live

    Hello.
I have heard that these building wills be 8&10 stories tall. Is this true?
My concerns are that if this is true people in these apartments will be able to see into a lot of people's back yards which will drastically change the feel of the suburb.
My other concern is if the residences are all 1&2 bedroom. This is a family area and it would be nice if families could be accommodated in these apartments with 3&4 bedroom apartments.
    Thank you

I am strongly against the DA to build a Mosque in our local area, the road traffic is already getting worse every day, building a Mosque will bring in more traffic and noise pollution to this highly populated community. I do respect their religion and culture, respect is mutual, our normal daily life should be respected as well.
