Hi Bayside Council,
Please find our objections listed below to the proposed aforementioned development under Bayside Council, reference DA-2020/241).
Having lived in the property since we purchased back in 1975 we have enjoyed many years in the neighborhood, We were shocked and dismayed when We read the proposed application. Our unit is situated on the 5 floor and this new building would block all the views of the beach and horizon from each our our windows and would cast a shadow over the whole apartment. Is this legal, how is it possible that you are allowed to obscure someones view and ultimately devalue their property value? This must exceed current planning height restrictions?
Additionally the new apartments would increase the strain on the current infrastructure i.e. parking which is already unbearable.
With more residents and parking comes more nose, currently Brighton Le Sand is a mecca for hoons driving recklessly at all hours of the day, especially after midnight.
We are also cornered that the development would create a wind tunnel with the Novatel on the other side.
We really can't believe that this proposal has been put on the table by the council, if this was your house that had looked over the beach how would you feel if somebody came along and destroyed that forever?
Yours faithfully
