In Epping NSW on “Tree Application - Removal...” at 8 Ray Road Epping NSW 2121:

I object to the removal of these 3 mature trees which are part of an attractive grove of trees with the adjoining street trees. They also provide habitat for wildlife and are popular with the local birdlife. The removal of these trees would change the streetscape and has potential to negatively impact on the remaining/adjoining street trees. I cannot see how these 3 trees can be safely removed without damaging the street trees - which would be tragic. An arborist report is required to show how this tree removal is intended to be managed to protect these public assets. Or is there a separate application to have these beautiful mature indigenous street trees removed as well? I also object to their removal.
The reason given for the tree removal is that branches may fall and an alternative request is also made that the trees be cut to a size which the owner can prune should consent not be given for their removal. However, there is no arborist report to show that the trees have structural problems or whether they are suitable for pruning etc.
I note that although the yard in which the trees are located is very small, it may be possible to extend the house and/or build a granny flat in this space. If this is planned then it would be more appropriate for the tree removal to be included in the DA.
