In Macquarie Park NSW on “Approval is sought for a...” at 122 Herring Rd Macquarie Park NSW 2113:

Dear Sir/Madam,

As a resident of Saunders close building, I strongly disagree with the application LDA2019/0264, proposed for the new construction on 122 Herring Road, Macquarie Park.

This area is already overcrowded and with all the new construction projects currently in progress, Herring road and Waterloo road will become even worse than what they are today, once those buildings are occupied by the new residents. Building high rises one after another is not what people need when the closest hospital is 15 minutes drive from here and the closest playground for our kids basically does not exist!

Besides, site A is proposed to be built so close to No 1 Saunders close! Even though I don't live in those buildings but I am extremely concerned about the safety of my family and friends living there. Aren't we supposed to learn from our mistakes? The Mascot tower's case is still open in the court! I don't understand why the assessors at the council even think about building those high rises so close to each other when the people's safety is in danger! I don't believe anyone in the area who pays council every month want their money and their tax to be used against them and ruin their lives.

Long story short,

1. Macquarie park is already overcrowded and the roads are congested every day. Adding thousands of families to such a packed area makes it far worse.

2. SAFETY! SAFETY! SAFETY! The proposed buildings are so close to the existing ones. As other people mentioned so many times, don't make us the news headline!

3. Privacy! Building those towers so close to each other literally kills the residents' privacy. Usually people DO NOT LIKE THEIR BEDROOMS TO BE EXPOSED TO OTHERS day and night!

4. Sunlight! Site A will overshadow 120 Herring road in the morning and 1 Saunders close in the afternoon. The people on the lower levels will literally get zero sunlight during the day!

The residents will be so grateful if the council could sometimes be a bit mindful of their wellbeing and lifestyle. PLEASE reconsider the proposal and don't turn the lives of so many families into a nightmare just to earn more money!
