The Artarmon Conservation Zone is clear that houses cannot be demolished and the buyers should have been fully aware of this at the time.

Approval of demolishing 30 Muttama Road will set a precedent of knock downs and rebuilds. This will change the character of the suburb, which the zoning rule were designed to protect. This zoning is a strong reason why residents have invested in this area. We have all renovated our properties based on these guidelines.

The council has the responsibility to uphold the zoning rules.
