In Maroubra NSW on “Demolition of existing...” at 1038 Anzac Parade Maroubra NSW 2035:

As a long term nearby resident of 1038-1040 Anzac pde I strongly object to this application. Since we have moved here over 27 years ago we have seen many changes to the area, mostly involving overdevelopment of a quiet suburb into a mini metropolis without adequate infrastructure to cope with the ever increasing traffic flow along Anzac Pde. As it is the main thoroughfare into town, it can take up to 3-4 minutes just to cross the road to get to the only off street parking available to residents (after clearway signs were posted overnight). The proposed addition of 40 to 80 extra cars/bikes travellers with only 20 parking spots is a recipe for further congestion and safety issue such as simply crossing the road to try and catch the full buses.
The area is already densely populated with low income housing commission units with unfortunately high levels of crime and anti social behaviour. We fear that adding 40-80 short term/?backpackers residents could increase these statistics and put long term ratepayers at risk.
We fully support the other concerns expressed in previous comments and hope Randwick council can see reason and reject the DA/144/2019.
