In Maroubra NSW on “Demolition of existing...” at 1038 Anzac Parade Maroubra NSW 2035:

Theo Klonaris commented

I have lived in the Maroubra area my whole life and I am frankly disappointed by yet another over development proposal in the area. I object to the proposal of DA proposal DA/144/2019.

In essence the developer is proposing a dwelling of mainly studios to house 80 people with car parking for 20 people on a major road with a clearway enforced on weekdays. I suppose the Anzac Pde median strip across the road will simply become a dumping ground for parking cars. One only has to look at the surrounding area to see the detrimental effect of high density dwellings, such as Chester Ave and the increasingly lack of street parking available.

The South Maroubra area has disproportionately suffered from anti social behaviour which has only marginally improved in the last decade. The local shops of Lexington place which were long ago abandoned to become a ghost town are testament to that!

The community wants long term residents that are invested in improving the area and the lives of the people in it, not a transient population that is simply passing through.
