In West Launceston TAS on “Construction of two and use...” at 4 Ashleigh Avenue West Launceston TAS 7250:

Michael and Gaylene Clayton commented

It has been bought to my attention by my next door neighbour, that in this area of West Launceston it is very rocky and that explosives may have to be used in the removal of ground materials to be able to construct the proposed buildings.
We are perturbed that if this is the case, ground vibrations may crack our house foundations, brickwork and the old lathe and plaster interior walls.
If that happens, we wonder if the developers are prepared to pay for any repairs required ?
In this immediate area, there are quite a few older people including myself who are home most of the time, it would be bad enough to put up with the building noises for months, extra traffic hazards created, lesser parking areas and also the inconvenience if any damages are caused.

Yours faithfully,
Michael and Gaylene Clayton.
