The property developers and councils will not be content until the inner suburbs are destroyed through overly high density living associated with a lack of amenities like open space and car parking spaces!
Let greed rule then - never mind the wishes of residents. Local, state, and federal governments no longer care about what people want but simply shaft any accountability elsewhere as the higher levels pocket political donations.

Thank you Lou Baxter. The residents have been saying ENOUGH is ENOUGH for a long time now. But as you say, our opinions don't count. Brunswick and Brunswick East have become high-rise ghettos with no open spaces and parking. This has attracted crime, vandalism and graffiti and, people don't feel safe here any longer. When will all this stop? Unfortunately, this type of development fuels attractive pay packets local and state governments, councils etc. And I suppose this is what matters to them most.

I agree with the above comments, and I object to the reduction in car parking requirement as it will cause congestion which will directly affect my ability to safely transit the area during my commute (by bike).

Overcrowding, rather than high density living, leading to poor quality of life and strain on amenities in the area. No parking as it is. Reduced parking waiver does nothing to help traffic in the area due to the sheer amount of apartments. We want homes, not shoeboxes.
Council pretends their hands are tied, ignore our cries, and ask for more money (with negative return). The process they go through, pretending to hear us, hold meetings; it's all bureaucratic checkboxes to ultimately approve a decision they made before even receiving an application.
