I believe squeezing so many as 20 allotments into a small area such as No 7 which is a house with a large garden will destroy the landscape, destroy the surrounding nature where so many trees are being removed for reasons for a view of Rumbalara Reserve. It is an overkill of the development.

I agree with Linda. It is a terrible idea to create so many sites. Alot of the trees have already been cleared for it now and it looks terrible. Some of those trees were scarred trees and now they have been cut down for the sole purpose of greed. We should be conserving our history and our environment not destroying it to make money.

    My objections are:
    - Land in the south-east corner of the site (Lot 20), is ZONED E2 ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION. (Reference: Gosford Local Environmental Plan 2014 (Map 014C Land Zoning Map)
    - E2 Environmental Conservation objectives (Gosford LEP2014) will NOT BE COMPLIED with, should Lot 20 become a residential lot.
    - One of the documented justifications for Council approving the initial DA 46626/2014 (for 14 residential lots) and the current DA 50939/2016 (for 19 residential lots) was on the basis that Lot 20 was to be a drainage reserve.
    - The ‘Statement of Environmental Effects’ report dated 13 October 2016 prepared by RPS Australia East P/L for Aspire Narara P/L and submitted to Council in support of their DA application, states:
Page 10: “For the purposes of assessing this application [DA 50939/2016], it is important to note that the constraints agreed to in previous development consent (location of access, Asset Protection Zone, drainage reserve) have all been preserved.”
Page 13: “In accordance with Clause 4.6(1) of the Gosford LEP 2014, flexibility is sought for the establishment of a detention basin for drainage purposes on the south-eastern corner of the site…Although this part of the site is identified as E2 Environmental Conservation, it should be noted that Council has previously provided support for a detention basin in the same location (Council Ref: DA46626/2014)”
    - Council’s Environment & Planning report for DA 50939/2016, dated 11 October 2017 at page 5 states: “Proposed Lot 20 has a site area of 1,346.0m2 and is proposed to be utilised for OnSite Detention purposes and Council’s Development Engineer has required that this allotment be dedicated as a drainage reserve".
    - Council’s Floodplain Risk Management Plan identifies Narara Creek as a high priority creek. How will the absence of a drainage reserve, and the additional stress created by another residential structure, impact on Narara Creek?
    - The subject site adjoins an area zoned RE1 Public Recreation and therefore the State Environmental Planning Policy 19 – Bushland in urban areas, must be complied with. SEPP 19 aims to protect and preserve bushland within urban areas.
    - Lot 20 borders, and forms part of a wildlife corridor. Changing Lot 20 from a drainage reserve to a residential structure will contravene Council’s ‘Coastal Open Space System’ public promotion and objectives.
    - Has a Flora and Fauna report been prepared by an independent authority other than the one submitted by RPS Australia East Pty Ltd who act for applicant/developer?
    - A Sydney based developer putting financial gain before the environment and trying to manipulate Planning & Development controls via this Section 96 proposal. No social nor environmental conscience.

The developers called this 'Bellbird Estate." They will need to rename it now because the bellbirds have gone, thanks to the destruction. We need to protect the environment which afterall, sustains us.

I put in an objection to the development and requested that pencil pines be planted along the lane driveway that we look down onto from our position No:5 Maliwa Rd Narara. This was ignored and we never received any response from council.

Can you please confirm whether or not this is the limit of development available on the site eg. will the balance of trees and reserve on the corner of Maliwa and Jirrang rd remain untouched or will this also be cleared for more housing?

    Please advice?

Work (loud noise of either chain saw or cement grinding) commenced onsite before 7am this morning.

I still have had no response from council regarding the attempted removal of a large Blue Gum and other trees. More trees have recently been removed near Lot 20 onsite which is the drainage reserve.
