I know this property and drive along Kirk Street most days .... How on earth can this block be made smaller?? These cottages in Kirk and Bracker Streets are already built out to the fence line and the rain gutters just about ‘hold hands’ .... seriously this is going way too far ....

To maintain the aesthetic of Toowoomba these sub divisions need to be pared right back. Some of the decisions getting through planning are ridiculous, and it will eventually alter the appeal of living in Toowoomba which is supposed to be a major country town, not an inner city Mecca that many people have tried to move away from by coming here. There’s no benefit making Toowoomba the same.

Kirk St is a very congested street already with cars being parked on the street and a number of residents. Many who have disbilities. In addition to this is the facility in Bracker St.
If this is to go ahead then at the very least speed humps need to be installed on the street to limit the frequent cars speeding between Neil and Hume St. (rat runners) This is a real issue and my fear is that one of the many children in the street, and or those with disabilities are going to be run over.
More housing means more traffic, more congestion and more parking issues.
The landlords in the street make this issue worse by having large numbers of individuals renting individual rooms their properties for massive rents. High density already.
