We feel that the platypus that are known to reside in this creek, just 10m away from
Building area, will suffer should this development go ahead -has an environmental impact study been done? What about the displaced animals yet again?

  2. Stephen Morgan commented

I am opposed to this development mainly due to the environmental impact on the local flora and fauna. It is well established that platypus live in the creek within close proximity, not to mention other native animals. These animals will be driven away from local area or just die out. Additionally, an extra 65 dwellings will increase an already congested and dangerous intersection at Palmwoods. I beg you to reconsider this development in order to maintain Palmwoods quiet village atmosphere and to protect the wild and endangered flora and fauna.

I am opposed to this development. The only thing to come out of this is destroying our environment, killing fauna and wildlife, not only the beautiful platypi but birds, koalas, insects, the list goes on and on. An environmental study needs to be done in order for protection of all endangered wildlife, trees and plants. The council needs to stop being greedy and letting all these developers ruin our beautiful Sunshine Coast as well as our state.

Also stop knocking down all the lovely homes and putting all these ugly houses up, TWO of them on one block divided with no backyard. Apartment blocks going up everywhere, terrible! This is not only causing busier roads, but too many people disrupting the peacefulness and quietness that people wanted. Environmental damages and children are in more and more danger constantly because they have nowhere to play except on the roads! I have almost hit a few because they run out onto the road very fast without looking, or they see me coming and I wait for them to move, and they don’t for like 5mins...because they don’t care!

Let our beautifully wonderful environment alone and give it protection along with everyone’s safety.

Very concerning. An environmental study should be done. More thought needs to be put in to the placement of residential properties and clearings for the flora and fauna’s sake.

I’m opposed to this development as I’m concerned for the surrounding local flora and fauna. The environmental pressures this would put on the ecosystem would be to great and from my understanding there is a platypus colony nearby in the creek which would be displaced if this development were to go ahead. The noise, pollution and loss of habitat isn’t worth sacrificing our precious animals for. So NO to this development !

I am apposed to this development...
What are we doing to the beautiful Sunshine Coast :(
People live in Palmwoods to escape the busy living, to have their own space.
You are going to destroy habitats and kill more wildlife AGAIN... when will it stop?
    65 units.... are you serious?
Please share the environmental impact study....
The coastal areas are already too much, development is everywhere you look.... destroyed habitats and wildlife are everywhere.

    DEVASTATING!!!!
The people have spoken... no one is listening...Greed will always win :(
I fear for the future of the Sunshine Coast

This block is a massive flood plain, If this development goes ahead as planned it will create huge problems for existing properties on low lying ground. Is council willing too compensate property owners whose property is destroyed.

  9. Victoria McGuin commented

Please, no development here. Where is the environmental study? The damaging effects of building on flood plains, which are so necessary for the environment. The destruction of habitat for the wildlife, including the platypus.

Plus the fact that we simply do not have the infrastructure in place for more development at present. The intersection by Jubilee Drive and the railway bridge is virtually impossible to exit on a regular basis and dangerous as it is, without more traffic making it worse. If we must have some development, make it sympathetic to the character of the town, and without adversely affecting the local biodiversity - and improve infrastructure first. Surely this is possible? Planet and people before profit - please.

  10. Peter Schravemade commented

I would urge council and the councillors to not grant this extension.

Palmwoods has materially changed since this development was knocked back the first time.

Already approved developments have realised population growth. This has continued without measures to improve traffic, parking and human flow around this site.

Additionally it is a well known fact that the transport company neighbouring have been already reclaiming part of the water table effected land since the original approval. I would suggest this will have a huge impact upon this development as it is the same water table.

Please don’t allow this to happen. There is no infrastructure to support this, it’s a known flood area and nobody seems to care about the flora and fauna. This suburb is perfect the way it is. Please don’t change it by adding more things the locals don’t want! Don’t ruin our area for money.
