This planned sub-division has come to our attention on Facebook of all places, two months after it was lodged and has caused great distress amongst family and neighbours.
The reason we bought our property is because of the peaceful, tree-covered outlook where we are very close to nature. Every day we are serenaded by kookaburras, butcher birds, rosellas, magpies, frogs and more. We have a family of tawny frogmouths living in the trees at the rear of our block, we have blue-tongued lizards and echidnas paying us frequent visits. We were under the now misguided impression that this land was deemed " green-wedge" and could "never" be built on.
We abided by the covenant imposed on us when buying the block that stated we were not permitted to erect a back fence, as we felt that this was in keeping with the rural nature of the environment. We do not want trucks constantly rumbling past the back of our property, creating noise, dirt and dust to create a new sub-division.
A basic courtesy and expectation as ratepayers and landowners is that any sub-division, road or building works that directly impacts a property should be communicated to those concerned.
To think that these beautiful trees and wildlife that live in them will all be destroyed, will severely alter the landscape and will potentially devalue all surrounding properties. I implore the land authority to realise this land as "green wedge" as it is meant to be and not undertake any roadworks or removal of vegetation or further sub-division.
