We have had no information about this, was informed that the person wanting to build the 6 cottages/school camp . This is not normal process/procedure your client has friends in council we hear, has that been declared. my neighbor alerted me to this tonight, I am seriously concerned.

Is there any information on the size of these cabins or how many people each one will hold. If they are being used for school camp then they could hold quit a few.
There are no facilities for anyone staying in these cabins, so are there plans for further development of restaurant etc
And once these 6 cabins have been built can they build more. Is this possibly the start of a much larger development.
I am concerned about noise and traffic from this development.

The owner is planing to build 30 cabins in total, this is only stage 1.

On the Scenic Rim council DA notifications page there are details from a meeting that the owners had with Council back in 2015 to discuss plans to build a 32 cabin tourist resort and aged facility with day conference facilities a helicopter pad and numerous amenities. There is mention of up to 40 extra cars using Cherry Tree Court on a daily basis which would require upgrading of the road. So council is aware of the owners long term goal even though they are trying to do it in stages of 6 cabins at a time so that it is code assessable and does not require public notification. I do not believe there is a need in Boyland for this kind of large-scale development and I certainly don't want it in my street. Cherry Tree Court is not equipped for this. Just for starters there is barely space to put the owners rubbish bins, which are always left out in the street, let alone rubbish bins for 6 or more cabins! There are so many reasons why this development should not go ahead. I have complained to council about various issues such as ongoing illegal clearing being done by the owners. The Deputy Mayor and Council Assessments Officers have told me the owners are not authorised to do this clearing. I was told to report it to the State Government as local Council can't do much about this apparently. The owner told us the current application is only Stage One of the development, he has been planning this resort for many years and he is adamnant it will go ahead. Council informed me that the application does not require public notification and cannot be appealed. It is currently with the State Government awaiting further information from the owner. So as far as I can tell the residents of Cherry Tree Court and Blue Gum Drive that do not want this development to go ahead HAVE NO RIGHTS AND NO SAY ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT. All we can do is continue to make as much noise about it as possible and complain to all the council and government departments involved. A number of neighbours from both streets met with the Deputy Mayor Nadia recently to express our concerns and she assured us she would do what she could to help, yet the illegal clearing still continues. I urge you to contact the council to express your concerns and why you believe this development should not go ahead. Please feel free to contact me if you want more information.
