As a resident neighbour of the Shoal Bay Country Club Hotel, we object strongly to extended hours from 12 - 2 am. Surely 12 am is adequate. Shoal Bay has a 1 klm radius. Apart from over the summer months it is a quiet coastal village. The noise resonates. New owner should respect the residents. What are these special events? Only increase antisocial behaviour. Nelson Bay police should be consulted.

As residents in relatively close proximity to the Shoal Bay Country Club Hotel, we strongly object to any extension of operating hours on the grounds of; increased noise pollution & disruption, increased anti-social behaviour & negatively impacting our small, quiet (apart from peak summer) community. There is already a problem with broken glass from beverages, noise from drunk patrons leaving premises & antisocial behaviour in the surrounding streets which needs to be better addressed by mgmt & local authorities.

As residents of Shoal Bay, we strongly object to the extension of trading hours of the Shoal Bay Country Club. Shoal Bay is a small community and the possibility of increased noise and anti-social behaviour as a result of extended trading hours is not acceptable as this will negatively impact on all residents. The application does not specify or limit what is a "special event" and I suspect that if approved these would be very frequent. The Country Club should be a community facility and the extension of trading hours would appear to be aimed at attracting revellers from outside the community purely for the profit of the owners. This should not be approved without strict limits on how often special events can be staged.

15 assaults in 1 year. Extending until 2 am will make it worse. The noise of the bands is a nightmare for residents. Please consider us and our safety and not greedy owners

While we appreciate that the new owners of the Shoal Bay Country Club Hotel...feel the need for innovation they must show respect and sympathy for the local residents.
Shoal Bay is a peaceful bayside suburb which has the benefit of tourism during the holiday periods...
The local residents realize that they have to accommodate the changes during that time...and have come to tolerate the midnight closing of the Hotel..despite the inconvenience of really loud noise especially the BASE which vibrates around the whole area..when live bands are playing..
With the possibility of a 2.0 am extension to the trading hours we feel that this will in no way benefit the local residents , in close proximity, as we are sure that these extensions will not be restricted to just the holiday period.

As residents within a few hundred metres of the Shoal Bay Country Club Hotel we strongly oppose extended trading hours till 2am.
The city of Newcastle has introduced 'early lock out laws' with a reduction of of assaults and anti social behaviour.
Introduction of extended trading hours would go against this philosophy and exacerbate the noise and antisocial behaviour we, as residents, have to already tolerate.

What exactly are the 'special events"?? Will these be made whenever the Country Club wishes!!!! and I suspect that if approved these would be very frequent. The Country Club should be a community facility and the extension of trading hours would appear to be aimed at attracting revellers from outside the community purely for the profit of the owners. This should not be approved without strict limits on how often special events can be staged. Newcastle has lock down hours, as do Kings Cross. There is no need for extended hours in our beautiful sparkling Shoal Bay.
