This is the low-rise area of southbank. Across the road in all direction are low rise apartment buildings - can't we show some restraint and maintain the low rise look and feel. This area is unique within the City of Melbourne - please save it. once this building goes up we will have lost this area.

Leave this pocket of Coventry Street alone. The removal of the current low rise apartment will strip off the charm of this area. There are enough apartments in the area already, we do not need additional density to add to the already densed surrounding area.

We live in Dorcas Street and will overlook any development on the proposed site. We are extremely disappointed with the footprints and density of the appartments that have already been approved, and will be built, in Kings Domain, next door. The enclave around the site in question has a low-rise feel and we urge planners to maintain this pocket of low-rise in a surrounding environment of high-rise apartment buildings.

There is no doubt that wind velocities have increased significantly as a result of high-rise "tunnelling" in the area and we don't want this to be further exacerbated.

We also see that car parking congestion is increasing. The proposed development will only increase this parking pressure.

The construction work around this area is beyond ridiculous, I live in 65 and our views will be obliterated by this building work, there are 3 other apartment blocks being built around here all over 20 floors, our building is 13 as are all of the others in this pocket of southbank, there is no restraint on granting these applications - there needs to be reform!

I work from home, and having to put up with construction on Dorcus St 6 days a week for the last year is excruciating. I simply cannot handle having MORE construction noise on Coventry. Please let us keep the sanctuary that is Coventry St, and not spoil it with massive apartment buildings. I wouldn't be opposed to smaller town house style apartments going up, but nothing tall and obnoxious like the proposed 28-story ones.

Way too many un-necessary new development apartments block here and getting dense, why not propose low rise development around these area, with the programs that something can benefit local resident instead of degrade the beauty of locality like sad pigeon holes with cheap and boring repetition glass facade. Where is the thought of good planning or just building something for the greed.
Please rethink this again before too late to safe the forest :(

The reason I purchased in Coventry st was due to it being in the low rise part of south Melbourne close to the arts precinct, which by it's very nature was not meant to be high density. Since the rezoning to Southbank it's almost like the planners have gone overboard and turning it into another problem area that hit city road amongst others in the late 90s and into the 2000s. I definitely don't see this adding value and when I enquired recently with my bank they informed me there is little scope for any lifestyle expansion, hence, why property values are staying stagnant and lenders not being able to promote anything due to what is planning and what is approved
