A thirty dwelling development is far to large for the area. There is inadequate street parking in the area now and this development will see another twenty to thirty more cars parked on the road as insufficient on site parking will be provided.

Totally agreed with Gary. This area is too small for 30 dwellings units. Parking will be a big issue.

To accomodate 30 dwellings in such small area will be built up which will an eyesore and privacy of other residents will be compromised. Not forgetting things will get worse during festive seasons where gathering/parties will be organised ..

    Please reconsider !!!

This is an absolutely ridiculous, proposed development for the street. Sheer greed from an overseas developer, who has no empathy or repore with local residents or area. To even contemplate this shows the they're sheer disdain and arrogance. At present Wilson st caters for 6000 thousand cars a day who predominantly use this road and Jellicoe as a short cut. This type of development will only exacerbate the traffic situation, and parking situation exponentialy. This development needs tobe stopped, it's sheer proposed height, presence and nature are not in keeping with the area. Hopefully commonsense prevails not just dollar signs for a council hungry for extra rates.

I note that there is at least 2 applications listed for this address, but regardless of whether it is 14 apartments or 30 apartments, it seems to be a common trend at the moment in many valuable suburbs. Personally I would favour a medium scale development in this area, which is relatively underdeveloped at present with many dilapidated 50s single dwellings on very large blocks, however a large/high scale apartment complex would be very much justified if it were in the immediate vicinity of either Cheltenham station or Southland station (under construction), or in the wedge formed between Chesterville/Nepean/Jamieson.
The height is limited to 11m AFAIK, which is only a little higher than some existing houses in Jeliicoe street; and this street has low levels of traffic most days, (unlike Wilson street which feeds most of it;s traffic KarenSt<>CtrDandenongRd); but adding a large development will inevitably exacerbate the parking situation in a quiet street.

At first I thought the proposal was for TWO dwellings, but when I now read THIRTY!!!! I am flabbergasted. How can I NOT write to protest against such an overdevelopment of one site?! Any citizen concerned about the local environment would - and should - do the same.
