As a very near resident in Charles St, I submitted a 7 page letter to council outlining issues relating to this Liquor Warehouse occupying this building on an already busy residential street. No response was made, despite notification on this website that "residents had been consulted". Nobody wants this monstrosity near our homes, we do not need additional traffic, trucks for deliveries, waste pickups, nor neon signage. When is the "residential consultancy" actually happening and where is the response to my concerns. Seems council is again in bed with the big boys. Woolworths already has a large supermarket and a BWS on Norton. It doesn't need to move that license to a warehouse of Liquor...vacating YET ANOTHER shop on Norton Street. This warehouse is not welcome at the end of my street. Nor is the noise and disruption already happening with its construction and that of the roundabout- which council is installing at taxpayer cost - for the benefit of getting more cars and trucks into that entry to buy liquor at all hours.

With respect to the liquor store development 7 Darley the DA application has been approved, for liquor store, cafe/deli and office space. I see extensive information on the liquor store, the least desirable element of this development and no information on the proposed cafe/deli. As a homeowner, rate payer and all round permanent resident of leichhardt I'd like more information on the only part of this proposal that will actually have a community benefit to the area; the cafe/deli. Can I please be directed to where this information is available and if this portion of the development will be available from the outset.

I'm dissapointed to see that the only solution council could come up with for the site was to sell alcohol, not the most community minded proposal. I hope plans for building business on Norton Street has a more considered approach. Spend some time and effort building a village feel that will encourage shopping, dining and patrons dwelling in the area on a regular basis and less on drive through patrons which bring no long term value. Take away stores, be they food or liquor do not inspire patronage. Not sure I ever heard anyone say "ooh, this weekend let's go to leichhardt for the day, they've got that great Dan Murphy's and those great Thai massage places..." Some thought in our town planning beyond $ return would be appreciate by all. Go on, make an effort and surprise us all with a plan that's inspired instead of commercially predictable.

Getting back to my initial point... please provide details, plans etc to the portion of the approved DA around the cafe/deli at said site - as all plans simply show a monstrosity of a liquor store. Thank you.

We live directly across Darley Road from this building! And we are EXTREMELY concerned about numerous issues. Such as our privacy. Those VERY large windows look directly onto our property, the increase in traffic on an already VERY busy Darley Road. We have been told that the new and improved Inner West council will be making it "No Right Turn" on to the Dan Murphy upper Car Park from the City West Link.

But, honestly, how many times have you seen drivers disobeying these signs? Causing traffic to back up on to the City West LInk? Parking in our street will be a absolute nightmare! And to be perfectly honest, There already is a BWS in Leichhardt Market Place, Dan Murphys on Norton Street, and AMARTOs on Norton Street, IGA Liquor on Cathrine Street and a another Liquor Store on Styles and Catherine Streets. Just how many liquor stores do we need?

Hello everyone, My understanding after attending the Westconnext Info session on 13 August is that the Sydney Motorway Corporation is in negotiations to acquire this site for a 'dive' mid-tunnelling point and construction site. They will occupy it for 4 years with 24/7 trucks carrying spoil out of the tunnel. I suggest you contact the Council and your Local Member, as I intend to do, to try and stop this.
