Please don't allow a reduction in the standard rate of car parking.
There is already another set of units going up on the corner of kirkdale and Nicholson Street with limited parking.

Nicholson Street is difficult to park on as it's s a clearway at peak times.
Kirkdale Street is also impossible already to get a park already during business hours!

There is simply insufficient Street parking to support another development with a reduction in car parking opportunities.

This thing is gigantic and tasteless and is not at all in keeping with the local environment. There are a number of beautiful homes that are no doubt going to be bulldozed to build it. Because why would we maintain housing stock for families in the neighbourhood when we can sell dog boxes to investors?
Obviously this will get the green light because well, developers, and the Residential Growth Zone. At least please do not allow the reduction in car parking because seriously, where else are these people going to park?? It's insane to think you can build a behemoth like this and then reduce parking.

Inner Melbourne is already over-crowded with apartments, with many of those already or currently being built not even selling. Such high rise developments will often form future slums, without even the opportunities the old high-rise housing commission flats of the 70's had (such as surrounding green areas). The Residential Growth Zone is simply a way for the better-off to ensure THEIR quality of life is not affected by the massive developments arising from rapid population growth and political donations from property developers. However the housing commission flats were so disastrous that many were later demolished in an effort to stop the associated social problems . And council, ever desirous of more rates, argues you don't need parking (although the decision-makers, usually elites themselves, have cars). In reality developers want to reduce parking so they can lower the price of apartments without lowering their large profits. Pity the slum dwellers of the future and the families living in dog-boxes.
