    this section photographed is that where you propose to put seating? it is extremely narrow and pedestrians will be forced onto the street. that corner is already a safety issue.

    The proposed seating is for the Erskineville Rd side of the building in the photo and diagram at the Council’s website (use the 'read more information' link).

    Hive Bar is a great local establishment. As with Maggie’s Thai, the Thai restaurant over the street, the Rose, and the Erko, it's great to see locals hangout on on the street in the day or evening. Erskineville Rd has lovely wide footpaths to accomodate this.

    I think this application should be approved.

    As zio ledeux says in their comment, the Erko Rd/George St corner does actually have a safety issue with the visibility of pedestrians to drives who are watching for other vehicles. I'm not sure what the solution is there, but I do feel like preference should be given to people walking around our area.
