Will this home business have an impact on Queen Street traffic. Queen Street is a trunk collector or main arterial road though Redland Bay

Is this application for a 'Home Office' only or does it include access for additional work vehicles onto the property ie work trucks, materials, etc.?

I have just learnt of my grandparents and my uncle's homes being demolished. My grandparents home was well over one hundred years old, and my uncle's home was over sixty years old. I mistakenly thought that any building over a century old was heritage listed. My mistake. I really think family members could have been contacted before this happened. Just because we don't still live in the Redlands, does not been we don't exist!

I have already written to Mark Edwards expressing my dismay and disappointment that those old houses in Queen Street had been demolished without any discussion or public input -not only the houses, but a number of mature trees around them. His reply seemed to suggest that it was out of the hands of the elected members and that it was in accordance with planning regulations.
If this is the case, there is something deeply wrong with our city planning processes and in my view planning and development in the Redlands has got out of control.
I really hope that our new council will reestablish effective measures to retain the special and unique character and history of this city.

I fully agree with Don Clegg's comments above. I've also had dealings with Mark Edwards and Julie Talty on other matters and both of them continually spout the "not Council's fault - hands are tied - just following State Government directives" line.

Why then, do we need local Government at all? What are the councillors being paid to do? If OUR local councillors can't stand up for their constituents' wishes, it seems to me that they have now become obsolete and we don't need them. But, this situation could just be way the Williams' Block works and a new Council, hopefully, will prove to be better. One can only hope!
