I object to the development of 86 Brougham St to contain 3 townhouses purely due to the nature of the street - this is a single lane one way street which already struggles to provide adequate parking for the current residents and visitors as parking is restricted to only one side of the street. In addition to this, due to all the retail amenity at the High Street end of the street, this single lane one way street already carries more traffic then it should. I do not believe adding to both the traffic and parking pressure, by over developing this property, is the right decision and so the requested permit should not be granted.

This has not been advertised to residents. This is a small street and parking is already difficult. Having an additional 3 dwellings on this property is adding to the overcrowding on this already busy and narrow street. Having a two/three storey building will encroach on the other properties that surround it which are already small in nature. Having such a tall building will be disproportionate to the small houses around it and is overwhelming in the skyline view of surrounding properties. Residents are not happy spending top dollar on properties when such proposed buildings go up encroaching on space. Where will Windows go? Looking into everyone's backyard, it joins 5 other properties, a real loss of privacy. There are two small blocks of land next door, having a 2/3 storey building will encroach these small properties.

    - If approved, this will be a precedent on the street - this will be the first block of land of a smaller size, approx 700 sqm with a 3 storey building on it. The only other 3 storey buildings on Brougham St are of a much larger in size. 3 storey buildings on a 700 sqm block will stand out on Brougham St and look like a tower. This is also true because the land is towards the end of the first block of Brougham St which is already elevated compared to the Kew Junction end.
    - Small houses around this property will also make these 3 storey dwellings look even higher in scale.
    - We already often have to park outside of the street because how packed the street gets on the weekend and evenings, this will make it even worse.
    - A building this tall will shadow and effect the lighting of properties all around, even across the road because the street is so narrow the houses are close together.
    - This is a tightly packed street, adding a 3 dwellings with 3 stories will make it feel worse.

This property has become a hot spot for squatters, I've seen them coming and going from the property. How long will this application process take, original submission was December.
