It was my understanding that multi-unit dwellings were not part of the Housing Strategy for the East side of Asquith.

The level of congestion caused by commuter parking around Asquith Station and adjacent streets is already at dangerous levels (and a new 40 space car park in Jersey Street North will not even make a dent in the problem*). Both sides of the roads (Haldane, Winston, Olive & Heath Street) are parked up, cars double park to drop off and pick up people and crossing the road safely is becoming a real problem, especially on Haldane Street.

Building multi-unit dwellings on the East side of the highway so close to the station will only compound the problem. Once the new units on the West Side are complete I seriously question the capacity of this station to handle to volume of customers and additional traffic.

*There would be far less people trying to park at Asquith if there were more frequent train services between Hornsby and Berowra stopping at all stations. Many of the commuters live in Mount Colah/Mt Ku ring gai where there are fewer trains per hour.

I plan on buying one of these town houses- the housing market is just way too expensive. Buying a new townhouse in an area such as Asquith is our dream, where it is close to the station (and you don't need to drive) is a way our family can save and be close to the schools. I think the people who complain about these sort of things are selfish and spoilt, living in their luxury homes.

Council & Jonathan G you clearly have no idea of the local market and what affordable housing is, it doesnt exist in the Hornsby Shire! Are you aware a brand new townhouses just off Galston road are asking $1.4-$1.6M good luck in your "affordable" overpriced townhouse in Asquith! Development in our area is to top up Councils revenue and line developers pockets
