How many more medium density developments are you going to approve for Crookston Road? We purchased our house because the street was mainly free standing houses with owner occupied families & couples. Over the last 7 years the number of properties that you have approved for development is significant. The majority of these properties only allow a single car park for each dwelling, however the reality is that most of these dwellings have multiple cars and the additional car is parked on the street. Also we have noticed that because these dwellings are small to fit maximum numbers on the blocks, they lack storage space, so the garage ends up becoming a storage unit and the 2nd car also ends up parked on the street. The result of this is a dangerous traffic congested street with cars parked both sides which reduces the space for through traffic and has caused many cases of parked cars being damaged by the council trucks and traffic driving through the narrow space between the parked cars. I have also lost count of the number of times my driveway is blocked by inconsiderate neighbours parking across my driveway because there is no space on the street. It is time to stop the continuous development as the infrastructure is not designed to cope with it.

I have live in the street for 10 years and there is way to many medium density developments in being approved in Crookston Rd. Not enough off street parking for new developments as they have a single garage (If you can called it that very small in size). Most dwellings have more than one car which means that they park on the street which now has become overcrowded and very hard to drive down, especially the council trucks on garbage/recycling day. Taking out the garbage/recycling bins has become an issue because the of the extra cars parked in the street. I even take out bins early but they still park in front of them even after asking them if they could leave some space. Council should consider reducing the number of units being built on a block and increase the minimum parking requirement to two. Enough is enough!!!!
