I object to a free range chicken farming at Hervey Range the area of Sanctuary Road runs into 2 creeks and to successfully farm free range chickens you need to irrigate paddocks , the water table in this area is critical to many residents and if the water table was tapped for irrigation use it could upset the water supply to every property that relays on the underground supply.
Will the operation be operated in strict accordance with the standards of the Australian Free Range Chicken Association, and will inspections be inline with the Associations Approval checklist?
With the drought conditions that currently exist many hard questions need to be asked and answered before approval should be granted.
Also with Hervey Range being a long term grazing area and 2 confirmed cases of Q-Fever in the area recently the eggs being produced will need to be stringently monitored.
