Lygon street already has a ridiculous amount of high rises approved for such a small area. There is already limited parking for residents, limited public transport and traffic congestion most times of the day. Do not allow lygon street to be in shadow. Do not allow the local business to be pushed out. The character of the landscape has already changed for the worse. Please do not approve this construction.

"a waiver of loading bay requirements, a reduction in car parking requirements and removal of easements"

These conditions are creating significant issues for pedestrians, cyclist and motorists around the area.

Removal of loading bays increases the risk of injury to cyclists with trucks and vans pulling into the side, and increases the noise for residents.

There should be no reduction in parking.

Where I live already experiences severe parking problems, setting neighbour against neighbour. We used to have street parties - now we constantly fight each other instead. Many no longer speak to each other. Over-development followed by parking problems has a lot to answer for - moreover the high rises are being approved on a one by one basis with little thought for resources like open space and parking for the entire area.

The developers of course live elsewhere. The inner suburbs are being sacrificed on the altar of rapid population growth, with little long-term planning (look at how long many of the buildings are designed to last before they must be renewed).
