What an appalling monstrosity. The Bridge Street proposal seems to have been inspired by Pit Straight at Albert Park in Melbourne with the Paddock Club perched on top of all the team garages. Maybe there has been a mix-up and this is actually the proposal for the pits complex at the new racing track at the Wellcamp Airport?

I feel very sorry for any resident whose property adjoins this eyesore. As a very small consolation, the resulting drop in property value by having this nearby should lead to lower rates. Council should reject this application on its lack of aesthetic qualities alone let alone the loss of privacy for the nearby residents.

The site is within the Neighbourhood Character Overlay, but because both existing houses will be retained, the proposal seems to assume it can ignore any issues of scale, proportion or similarity in appearance; both new buildings tower over the existing ones.
Anyone approving this application should make an immediate appointment with both an optometrist and a back surgeon.

This was knocked back 5 years ago and now I see it has been resubmitted - perhaps a different design, however still 14 units ... NO WAY TRC!!!
