    Dear Sir
    I am writing to you as a result of receiving a notification from Planning Alerts, for 5 Crinan Street, Kilsyth VIC 3137
    developers change the character of the neighbourhood to the detriment of the neighbourhood residents.
    The developers like termites, White-anting and eroding our neighbourhood, they have been here for years, and are carving up land into the smallest practical blocks as possible, shoe horning houses in purely for profit. Often bypassing the council to the Supreme Court to remove the Covenants so council and residents are not aware of future development plans.
    Now cars are choking the street where I live, police have visited me regarding new residents and existing neighbor disputes. Significant trees ear marked by planning permits to remain, have been chopped down. Once the house has been built you can chop down trees if it detrimental to the house foundations.
    Individual Developers make their money and move on changing beautiful quite streets and treed house blocks into significantly busy places.
    The area has already suffered with multiple house developments with no end in sight.
    • Loss of vegetation ,Tree canopy removed
    • Change in prevailing building form including roofline;
    • Difference in building height;
    • Use of different materials;
    • Change to prevailing setbacks, including the front setback;
    • Reduction in open space; Less recreation areas (lack of community play areas for children)
    • Increase in site coverage and loss of permeable surface.
    • Increased noise level
    • Loss of privacy;
    • Overshadowing;
    • Building bulk;
    • Increase in traffic;
    • Loss of availability of on-street parking;
    • Loss of views.
    • Increased population
    You can see it happening in almost all streets, I am not against new land opening, and density housing estates with planned facilities. (like the old brick works near Knox City)
    The vandalizing of our suburbs.
    • There is no overall future plan of where this development is heading.
    • No cohesiveness of area development.
    • No traffic planning and off street parking, (most homes have multiple cars plus visitors)
    Example: both ends of Wavell Av Kilsyth. Where I live. (and still to continue)
    Is there anything that can be done in reducing this out of control development?
